You spend a long time deciding what to name your battle axe. It has to be perfect--something that will cause fear in the hearts of your enemies. You originally took the axe from an executioner in the last village you visited, a man whose job was to chop off the heads of thieves.

Perhaps it was not the wisest idea to steal from such a person.

Still, it has a nice ring to it. Executioner.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury's Executioner is a latex broad axe that has been heavily detailed and handpainted to intimidate your enemies. The axe is 85 cm long with a spiral haft and a 24 cm handle wrapped in split-leather for a comfortable grip. The axe-head is carved with bronze markings and is 15 cm wide, with a long 30 cm curved edge. At the bottom is a claw-like pommel carved and painted to match the axe blade.

Made from durable closed cell foam around a fibreglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, you can feel confident that your LARP weapon will provide the safety and appeal you want when crafting your kit.

HISTORY

  • First hafted axe was created about 6,000 B.C. using birch-tar and raw-hide lashings to fix the blade to its handle
  • Many battle axes doubled as tools and were cheaper to make than swords
